Don’t Faint, Wait!

I love the King James version of Psalm 27:13, it begins with, “I had fainted, unless I had believed…” Has there been a time in your life when you simply felt like this? That the only thing holding you together is your faith? Believe it or not, that’s a great place to be. It means we are relying on God and not ourselves.

So often, our resources are so great, we seldom pause to consider or show gratitude for our source, God. We eat what we want when we want. We fumble between key fobs, deciding which vehicle we’ll drive today. Our closets look more and more like department stores, and our bank accounts are what our grandparents dared not dreamed of. In and of itself, all of the above is good, for some it IS your blessing. The problem comes when we don’t give thanks, show gratitude, or become self-centered and not extend a helping hand to others.

Perhaps, you are seeking assistance but have become so consumed with your need, you focus on what you don’t have rather than on what you do. Maybe, you’ve failed to give thanks for life, breathe, and for waking up in your right mind.

Either in abundance or abandonment, in prosperity or poverty, in heath or in need of a healing, we all have the ability to be confident in this, we will see the goodness of the Lord if we but remain strong and wait for Him.

Psalm 27: 13 -14, “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
