Beware of Discontentment

Discontentment is a nasty state of mind. You’ll be seated in the lap of luxury yearning to cuddle with a cactus. It’ll cause you to view the blessings of God as a burden. Rather than being thankful for what you have, you’ll always desire what you see of others. While in the middle of a crisis, discontentment will standby quietly as you petition the Father for a miracle, then whisper in your ear all the “other things” He should already be providing.

Don’t be fooled, either. It has a way of camouflaging itself. It may appear as being ambitious or hungry for more. It will morph itself, causing one to stay up late and wake up early just to “be on that grind!”

If you’re unsure as to if discontement has been your copilot, ask yourself this simple question.
Do you give thanks for what you have, or are you always looking, desiring, longing, complaining for, or wanting more?

If your grind is greater than your gratitude, then you have a discontement problem, and baby, you are headed for a life of misery. There will never be “enough” to feed it. It has an unquenchable appetite. The more you give it, the more it demands. Nothing but Godliness with a side of contentment will defeat its grip. Guard your heart.
